Children of Ylva and Fenrir are undoubtedly touched by the shade, despite their parent’s efforts to hide them from it. Children born with Fenrir’s protruding spines are under the shade’s control, and their parents work quickly to find something to bind them and keep the shade subdued. Children born with Ylva’s runes are in control of the shade within them, and while they do quickly strike out on their own, they are able to fend for themselves and live a relatively normal life.

Main Theme: Young the Giant - Something to believe in

______ Pomare is the sixteenth born child of Fenrir and Ylva. Youngest of the clutch, Pomare has always been a happy, if not a little bit wild, dragon. Being the youngest always seemed to suit Pomare, the innocence and friendliness often assigned to the youngest of the clutch actually seemed to fit him. After his sister Layla took interest in gathering information about nature Pomare started to tag along. He soon gained an interest in healing animals after nursing an injured wolf back to health. While his lack of normal light magic to heal with was initially a setback Pomare eventually started to gain success in healing animals with the shade. However, many questions can be raised, what effect does this have on the animals he helps? And what would happen if he healed a dragon?

______ He moved to the Burrow at her older sister´s request. He took the mantle of veterinarian for the clan, even though Raz complained he didn´t need a 'professional' watching over his work. Caring for the beasts was not the only reason Irsa called him there, however. She is deeply interested in his ability to heal others using the Shade and she has been running several experiments with Pomare´s help to monitor the effects of it in living beings and perhaps, if things go well, develop a way to free their family from its curse.

______ Miyako's youngest brother (at the moment). Found his way to this clan without intent or knowledge of her presence already within the hive of Hellcroft; but found her in a deep, productive slumber, sheltered by the clan. He truly didn't recognize the 3rdborn of his kin, at first. Shouldn't she have aged? But no, it was Miyako. She'd matured in mind and power, but the enchantment of eternal youth contained the self in a hatchling's small but quick and capable body.
