Biography
Mary Anning is one of many dragons in the clan fascinated by rocks. She can often be found accompanying Thole on geological expeditions. She's particularly interested in fossils. Her faithful companion, the skeletal vulture Hazy, always flies alongside her and helps light up the darkest of caverns. She always carries a case of mineralogical and geological tools.
She's one tough cookie, more than capable of fending for herself while on solo or group expeditions. Her bravery to head in first to the pit, cave or whatever she's investigating is supported by her powerful claws and sturdy spines.
Of course, her courage extends only to the shoreline. She'll splash about but if any water gets on her spines she'll get very upset. The glowing magical circuits are especially strong there and fire and water do not mix. When her spines are wet she's slower with much lower energy until she dries out.
Her magic is a curious hybrid of Fire and Lightning. It manifests as the typical flames of a Fire dragon but will power Lightning circuits and equipment when in contact with it. Nobody is sure why her magic has this quirk. Mary likes it since that means she always has a backup source of light if her power packs run out while spelunking.
