Gallineo is one of the Clan's two traveling trade merchants. She is also the Clan's Cartographer. Her culminating project in her cartography apprenticeship was to copy all the Clan's maps of areas outside the Windswept Plateau, many of which were written purely based upon anecdotal accounts from passing travellers. These maps are the foundation of her map collection that goes with her everywhere and which she updates and corrects during her travels across Sornieth. Along with her cartographer's tools, she carries with her land surveying tools and over the years has developed accurate maps of her trips between the various domains with which she does business.

This is all a very personal undertaking for her. To the Matriarch, she is first and foremost a Merchant and she is expected to prioritize trade relations so they can import both staples and luxuries from across the land, not to mention the potential wealth from exporting goods.

Ironically, it is her cartography skills that led the Thagwynn to select her as the primary candidate to plot the route and escort the clan's inaugural delegation to the Festival at the Everbloom Vale. Normally a fairly reclusive Clan, Phenophon’s plans for creating the Orbiting Circus of the Air required that they branch out and find new resources for talent, supplies, and to scope out any competition.

Prior to this expedition, the Clan's trading within the Windswept Plateau had been small enough that Gallineo always travelled solo. But with this delegation across Sornieth to the Viridian Labyrinth, and further plans to increase their imports and exports, the Matriarch agreed to train up a dragon to join her as a permanent guard. Meanwhile, Weapons Master Zeila was assigned to escort Gallineo and the other dragons to the Greenskeeper Gathering in the Everbloom Vale.

Zeila was friendly enough, but a much older and taciturn dragon which led Gallineo to an unsettling revelation: her duties as a traveling merchant must always preclude her chance at a permanent life-mate. No one would want to be left behind for months at a time and who would willingly give up the comfort of a lair for life on the open road?

Gallineo nevertheless loved the open countryside, the sense of adventure, and the autonomy that her job provided and wouldn't trade it for anything. Or anyone, apparently. If only...
