Mako was named after the "Shortfin Mako" species of shark, which is known for both being an extremely fast swimmer and for being dangerous. Mako is a cunning and dangerous dragon whose familiar, named Slate, is just as fierce. Even as a hatchling, Mako had always gotten into fights with both his siblings and his parents, as well as any of the other dragons around him. Mako is always getting into arguments and races with Comet, who is just as competitive and as he. Although he is a Ridgeback, Mako enjoys fishing; in fact, being so skilled at it that he was made Lead Fisher.
