Ever since Frigga was a young hatchling, her one dream was to be a mage. She had been born with the unique ability to perform magic, a rare trait that she felt needed to be tapped into so that she could reach her full potential. Her parents encouraged her, even travelling to the castle to introduce her to the king and request that she became the next apprentice of the current mage, the Oracle. The king obliged with consent from the Oracle, and thus Frigga began her new life under the guidance of the mysterious mage. The Oracle and Frigga were completely different. Whereas Frigga was excitable and curious, the Oracle lacked much energy nor cared to answer many of its young apprentice's questions. It had a taste for 'darker' magic, magic that often required sacrifices, blood and sometimes even death. Frigga found great displeasure in this, and she found even great distaste when she realized that the Oracle kept this secret from the royal family. After studying for years and reading plenty of rare books, Frigga taught herself how to do magic that didn't require harming herself or others. The Oracle wasn't too interested in its apprentice's abilities regarding anything that wasn't 'dark' magic, but it did admit she had potential. Frigga never was able to perform divination well, and she was completely useless when it came to receiving prophecies from the Dragons Above. The Oracle, though most unpleasant, did have talent - even Frigga had to admit that. When the Oracle announced its leave of the castle, Frigga was in a state of shock. She assumed that the Oracle would stay much longer, and she felt that she wasn't nearly ready enough to provide helpful magic to the king to help improve the kingdom. As if things couldn't get worse, as soon as the Oracle left, the king fell ill with an infection of his lungs, making it impossible for him to breathe. Frigga tried everything she knew, even some of the darker magic she found distaste in, but all of her efforts were in vain and the king died. Though no one in the kingdom blames her, Frigga felt that she could have done more, and can barely stand to be around Apollo in fear that he hates her for the passing of his father. She mostly stays in her tower of the castle, researching more on illnesses and cures, and desperately wishing that the Oracle hadn't left so soon. She recently accepted her knew apprentice, Sirius, a young inspiring mage who often reminds her of herself. When she isn't teaching Sirius or studying, she's spending time gazing at the scout Match from afar. The two have had flirtatious remarks back and forth, but neither have been brave enough to confess or act upon their feelings quite yet. |
