Biography

Ignazio
The Bloodthirsty
Wealthy Recluse | Animator | Local Vampire

When you wanted to make a fandragon but the guy comes with lore

"My afflictions are my own burden, except when they aren't..."

Ignazio is a vampire, plain and simple. For that sole reason, he does not really belong to any clan, nor take any deep interest in their happenings. Rather, he lives on the outskirts of a series of lairs, engaging in different businesses with them, either when it suits him or when he is required to do so - his amassed wealth, after all, needs to remain so.

The proud owner of a large number of suits of armor, his bloodier interests are usually resolved using what animal an animated member of his collection can bring him. The problem, naturally, is not the common desire for a taste of blood, but rather the addiction he tries to hold back and, truth be told, manages to do so, most of the time.

Through his experience, he does not have to feed on his non-vampire neighbours too often and if, for some unknown reason, one does happen to go missing, well... his experience has also taught him how to cover his tracks.

By the edges of the lair, where the rocky cliffs rise steeply to the plains, a weary traveler might find themselves surprised at the strange castle protruding from the stone wall of the canyon. The suits of armor guarding the entrance seem out of place, their gleaming metal devoid of the dust that coats everything else in the canyon. Their eyeless gaze nearly seems to follow passerby. A shadow, overlooking its domain, can oftentimes be spotted looking from a second floor window of the old stone structure.

Not many can say they have seen the owner of such a shadow. Ignazio keeps to himself most of the time, only conducting business with the local clans through messengers. The most common goods are those acquired by his army of armors- artifacts from forgotten civilizations found in the surrounding caves, pretty stones worn smooth by dust and wind, or various trinkets gathered from those who got lost in the canyon. Sometimes, however, an envoy will return grasping within careful paws a faded painting, or a set of gold candlesticks too old to be in such perfect shape.

The same words used to describe the candlesticks, one might note, could be used to describe their previous owner. Ignazio is clearly of some age, nobody with so much experience could be so young, and yet his scales have not lost their gleam, nor have his eyes sunken, even if ever so slightly. Very few, however, have had the opportunity to notice this, as Ignazio, due to his affliction, mostly keeps to himself, away from the day-to-day happenings of nearby lairs.

He does not remember exactly who turned him, or what made him so, but Ignazio has known of his situation for some many years, and has adapted accordingly. In great part, he is proud of his ability to use his skill to animate pieces in his collection and command them to bring him things to satisfy his somewhat darker cravings... most of the time. But hey, if a lone dragon is to disappear from a close-by clan in the middle of the night, who would ever suspect the old hermit in the stone dwelling... He doesn't even leave his house, does he?

  • Bought the Citadel from The Canyon Home for Dangers to Sornieth and converted it to a private residence.
  • Is able to animate things in his collection of antiques (think Lumiere or Mrs. Teapot but without faces or sentience).
  • His prized possessions are his vast collection of suits of armor (spirit armors)
  • The first ghost he found was Fechin, the spirit of the Citadel.
  • Likes the ghosts because he doesn't have to worry about hurting them.
  • Avoids most of the living.
  • Has his own little clan made up of ghosts. Fiercely protective of them, sometimes to the point of being controlling or demanding that he know everything that they're doing, but he's trying to be better.
  • Pretends he's not angry that Fechin only laughs at him.
