______ Despite his childish name Mint is a strong and proud Guardian dragon, hailing from a pretentious light clan he believes himself to be more important than most and that his needs should always come first. Despite being a guardian dragon he never set out to look for his charge saying he had already found it, but never seemed to have any attachment to anything but himself. This led other guardian dragons to shun him and think Mint was only half a dragon, which made Mint furious at the prospect. With his head held high he left his birth clan to search for a place that would understand his importance.

No matter where the pompous wyrm went, he never found a place that understood just how important he was and how lesser they were compared to him. He was even called blasphemous for comparing himself to the deities, those dragons had some nerve.

However when he stumbled upon a Tundra named Winhelm, he finally felt that he was understood as the other withstood his boosting and rude treatment. Winhelm being passive and absentminded, the fluffy dragon didn’t even realize he was being pushed around and invited Mint to his clan’s lair like he normally did with strangers.

He quickly agreed and proclaimed that he was now part of the clan upon entering the lair which confused everyone. The clan leader Sylf being a guardian as well didn’t take too much distain with him, but it didn’t take long until everyone was tired of Mint and wished he would leave, but since he felt he got proper treatment from Winhelm he refused.

Being the only male guardian in the clan he felt like he had every right to the guardian females, though he quickly learned that the only one that would put up with him was Tropica. Sylf was aggressive and made it very clear she was taken and Anima would usually disappear from thin air whenever he tried putting the moves on her. From these encounters Mint told Sylf something that he had never told anyone; his charge. Sylf couldn’t believe that his charge was his beard, but it made sense since he would always style it and take more care of it that any other male guardian that she’d seen.

Now that the whole clan knew his charge, everyone seemed even more done with him and groaned at the reveal. It seemed that Mint never really stayed anywhere long enough for him to tell others what his charge was. One day after Mint had taken a nap he went to the water to style his beard only to find it was gone! He closed his eyes a shook his head before looking back to see that his chin was completely bare of his wonderful facial hair. Mint’s heart was completely broken, not only his magnificent beard gone but he had lost his charge, the worst thing that could ever happen to a guardian dragon.

Depressed and broken hearted Mint laid down and began to cry over the loss; however it wasn’t long until Sylf came around to help. He told her the horrid tale and the dragoness groaned telling him to lift up his chin before growling and leading him back to the water. She washed the underside of his chin much to hiss confusion only to see his beard reappear before his very eyes, which marked the day he finally found respect for another dragon other than himself. To thank her he tried to kiss her but was met with a slap instead, then they both returned to the lair. From that day forward he never tried to hit on her again and paid more attention to his beard more than ever.

To everyone’s surprise Tropica became Mint’s mate and they’ve been together since. Mint treats her quite well but still puts himself first and her at a close second. Half of the clan wonders how she puts up with him, while the rest think she only stays with him out of pity.
