As a hatchling, Apple loved to play with her brother and sister. They wrote music together, with Apple playing the instruments and Tab singing. The two weren’t quite as close to Tobi, their adopted little sister, but they both loved her anyway and let her join in singing too.
Apple happily took the role of oldest sibling, despite her brother being a tiny bit older. She looked out for her siblings, and loved them with all her heart. Which is why it crushed her so terribly when Tab died. Killed in a fight with another clanmate. She was in shock, denial, this couldn’t be true! Not her brother, her closest friend... But it was true. He was dead, gone, and along with that then a part of Apple was lost as well. She stopped eating, didn’t move or talk unless forced too, cried until she was completely dry. Her mother, father and sister tried to help, but Apple was too far gone. The lair healer force-fed her, keeping her alive until she started doing it herself. She wasn’t allowed out of her den, she couldn’t have visitors unless they were approved first, and she had only her musical instruments, paper and pens, and whatever things the healer brought in daily to entertain her. She was taken good care of, but the clan worried about what she might do if given access to whatever she wanted. Apple developed a habit of talking to herself, addressing her brother like he was still there. Her music was the only thing keeping her even slightly sane. Filling her den with a soft melody was a comfort. She refused to sing along, though, or even let anyone else sing. That was her brother’s part, and no one could fill it. The lair doesn’t have enough resources to take as good of care of her as they want, though. She would preferably need someone with her all the time, and sadly Clan Whimsical only has one healer for the whole lair. So there’re looking for someone willing to take her in and help her out as much as they can, and who knows? Maybe with time and loving care, she can even recover from her trauma... |
