Vez

Vez daydreamed as he flew through the branches of the Starwood Strand. He was trying to think of arguments to convince his mate, Copper, to let him join the warriors of the clan. As she was the Healer, he thought it made perfect sense for him to join the team and fight by her side. That way he could ensure that she was always safe! Maybe if he just showed her how strong he could be, she would agree with him! Now he just had to find some monsters to fight to prove his strength.

He shot off to the edge of the clan boundaries and zipped right by Aion as she shouted out a warning form her patrol point. He was determined and not even the head warrior was going to stop him! He darted between branches until he realized that in his quest to find a monster to battle, he didn't actually know where he was.

"Oh no. This is super bad. What if I get lost out here?" Vez thought to himself and then shrugged. "Well, I'm sure it will be fine. I'll turn around soon." He flew on and didn't see the shadows that were following closely behind. By the time he heard the branches snap above him, it was too late and he was firmly grasped in something's claws! Vez struggled furiously and tried to bite the claws that were holding him.

"Whoa, whoa, little guy. It's alright! I'm not gonna hurt ya!" The owner of the offending paw was none other than Qarthrynn. Oh, the humiliation. Vez was sure he was going to keel over and perish. "Why did you leave the clan boundaries in such a hurry? Aion sounded the alarm and I'm glad I nabbed you before anything happened. I know you are new to us, but I didn't think you'd want to leave."

Vez pushed against the claws until he was released, puffed up as big as he could, and dashed into Qarthrynn's muzzle. "I wasn't running away! I was going to prove what a good warrior I could be and then Copper would let me join the team!" Vez exclaimed while hammering his tiny fists against Qarthrynn's snout.

Qarthrynn wheezed out a laugh that sent Vez tumbling. "Oh, is that what this is all about? Well, listen. I'll take you home and we won't tell anyone what really happened out here. And, as an added bonus, I'll train you on the side to see if you have any warrior potential. Sound like a deal?"

Vez's face lit up in joy, he clapped his hands, and plopped down on Qarthrynn's forehead to give him the biggest hug he could. "You would do that for me, Qarth?! You're the best. Let's go home!"
