╭━━━━━━━━━━━•✎•━━━━━━━━━━━╮ When Sagitta was barely a hatchling, eye slowly opening to behold the heavens far above her nest, she was struck by how beautiful they were. She was a quiet little one, never one to fuss much. She would spend hours at night simple staring up at the starlit sky. Her clanmates unsure of where her mind wandered as she sat there for ages, they simply accepted this behavior as a gift from the arcanist. Perhaps one day Sagitta would study the heavens and map out constellation with the scholars under the Arcanist's watchful eye. It was her dream. It only lasted until she was old enough to leave her clan and journey on her own. That day as she took flight towards an unknown land, a mysterious object shot across her path. Startled she hovered for a moment, watching it streak towards the earth. She realized after a heartbeat that the mysterious object was a dragon, plummeting towards the ground. Without hesitation, she raced after it to catch it before it met its end with a kiss from the earth's hold. As she caught the dragon, she realized it had marks across its body and she felt a wave of unease as she realized the marking were brandings. They brandings still sizzled on the dragons flesh. As she lowered the dragon to the earth and placed it gently into the grass, it stirred. Opening its eyes, she realized its eyes were deep and dark and empty. The dragon hissed out a single phrase, before collapsing. Sagitta felt her blood chill. Fear choked her, and she fled with her heart racing in her chest. As she lay in her clan's home, silent and shivering, her clan mate's gathered around her. They looked deeply disturbed, especially to see that Sagitta refused to even look up towards the heavens. They were no longer a comfort to her. The words swam in her head, over and over. "The stars are watching you. Soon they will use your body like they've used mine."
