"Oh what it took to be this gentle..."
It took him most of his early life to learn hunting is not in his blood. Neither are the battles he used to search for constantly or that constant glory everyone praised him for. He never wshed to have bittered his brother, made him resent him. He never wished to cause so much damage before he started to fix the wounds he caused. It also took him fatherhood to teach him what truly matters. Seeing that sad, wailing hatchling was what softened his once hardened heart, making hm rush over to pick the little girl up and hide her under his wing. It was in the middle of the night, at the border between the Scarred Wasteland and the Starfall Isles. It was before Marigmu and Alizaeh had an egg, only just had adopted Fallon. Maya was basically the second child in the budding clan. But she was his first child. And not to say he was a perfect father. He fumbled often, didn't know what hatchlings even needed, sometimes even faltered and continued the cycles of expectations too high for someone that young... But Maya calm nature quickly made it clear that she would just burn out, and Kaloki still blames himself for her strong mellowness. She forgives him, and he's become a great father, but of course he damaged something, even if its okay now. It was not ok then, when all she needed was a father to teach her how to be. It took him a long long tme until he and Maya fixed the relationship between them fully, but it taught him so much. After she finally grew up, he decided to take his distance, away from everyone and to a secluded, lush garden that he watches over now. He's now known as a mentor of magic rather than of the hunt. His former student, Drakonshik, was witness to that carefully built gentleness. Which he did need. Nowadays, Kaloki is known for his gentle words and voice, rather than his harsh past that paints his hide and face. |

Kaloki is the dictionary definition of a gentle giant. He loves to make other dragons smile - especially the ones that he cares about the most - and it brings him great happiness when others are living their best lives and enjoying themselves. His favorite foods are chocolate - dipped strawberries and vanilla ice cream, and one of his favorite desserts is a simple little sundae with crushed strawberries, ice cream and a little bit of whipped cream. He also loves to bake, but has a bit of trouble with the kitchen he currently has - it's a bit small for his large Imperial form, and he commonly bumps into counters or knocks over the dishes that he's in the process of creating!
Kaloki also likes to garden, paint, and read. He prefers scrolls over bound books, likes watercolors over acrylics, and has a giant flowerbed right by his window full of fragrant and colorful flowers that he can enjoy from the second he wakes up. He doesn't pick flowers for other dragons, though. He hates the thought of killing a flower when it's perfectly happy and healthy where it's growing, so his compromise is to invite all of his friends (or random dragons!) over to his garden where they can smell and enjoy the flowers for themselves.
