LARGELY A WIP, BUT I CAN OFFER YOU BULLET POINTS IN THESE TRYING TIMES.
  • Born a tiny fae scholar on the outskirts of the Starwood Strand - Khione, then known as Fisk was inspired by her matriarchal clan to study up in the arts of healing, mana-storage, and arcane languages. After pilfering every bit of knowledge that she could, the fae decided to strike out on a journey across Sornieth.
  • She earned a quick name for herself as a wandering healer, offering aid to travelers in great need. It was on her journey through the Icefields that she met Boreas - an amnesiac fae who kept getting turned back around in a search for his home. Fisk, whether out of pity or the goodness of her heart took him in under her wing and allowed him to sleep beside her in her little wagon.
  • Thoughtlessly, they nested together but the elements weren't prepared for weak fae hatchlings and the children were lost before they ever had a chance to grow. Khione, similarly unprepared for the end before the beginning kept Boreas at arm's length, allowing him to help her with the alchemy of her healing potions and little else.
  • Boreas didn't really mind this arrangement, and the two of them are still great friends.
  • Shortly after the tragedy, Fisk started making arrangements to build a home there. It was in this interim that she met another fae named Chimalli, who was a wandering scholar stationed with a group of Shadow-Arcanists on a peculiar mission.
  • Chimalli and Fisk nested, giving birth to three daughters. Out of the clutch, Skadi was the only one to survive and Fisk took great care to be a nurturing, devoted mother.
  • Chimalli wasn't as interested in being a father as Fisk would have hoped, but their routine suited her just fine. It was on one fateful night while she was out scavenging for food to feed the energetic hatchling that she perished in a freak snowstorm - frozen hands unable to help her heal.
  • Chimalli found her shriveled form in a snowbank not far from their camp and dragged her body to the only people he knew could help - a trio of necromancers that had been traveling along with his clan for as long as he'd been alive. But helping Fisk seemed an impossible task, her body was beyond repair.
  • Druzilla, the least prolific of the three suggested something that hadn't been done since the era of the ancients. Rebirth of the soul. If they could get the ritual right, they could bring Fisk back as a new dragon. Due to the lack of reading material on this particular phenomenon .. things didn't go entirely as planned.
  • Fisk was given a second chance but her soul found a body buried far beneath the ice to rest itself in. This was the night that Fisk became Khione - a battle-hardened gaoler with a fae's spirit.
  • Khione took the journey back to the Arcanist's realm shortly after her resurrection. Skadi, Boreas, and Druzilla followed her there.
  • Over time, Khione built an Inn not far from her original clan's location - which had been entirely packed up and moved, though she was never able to piece together it's whereabouts. The Sanctum became a home for weary travelers and Khione found her purpose again - helping people.
