Here is an absolute: Comet speaks the truth. Comet sees the truth. Comet cannot see or speak anything but the truth.
The TRUTH, that is. The ONE TRUTH. The absolute cold metric against which everything else in the universe is measured: a single OBJECTIVE TRUTH. If you find the very beating heart at the center of the universe, you'd find TRUTH there: the secret of creation, of light, of life, of death, of everything. The ultimate knowing.
The inability to ever stop knowing. The inability to ever take comfort in lie, in metaphor, in polite delicate speech. The burning overwhelming radiance of a TRUTH which can never be unseen, never be unheard, never be unknown. A TRUTH which consumes. A TRUTH which consumes everything.
Is it any wonder Comet chose to blind himself?
In a pantheon of young gods, Comet is the blind, omnipotent god of TRUTH. If you see him, well. Give gifts to honor his strength, and count your blessings that you weren't chosen in his place.
