Biography
Bloeree knows being Soft is a synonym to weakness among many other Bloodletters. She does her best not to let this fact get to her, but she constantly finds herself curling into knots over it. Her mate is the only one who can untangle her.
Besides being a generally anxious dragon, Ree doesn't particularly feel drawn to the Bloodletter way of life. She feels nothing but a brief tingle during rituals, and feels less than that when she is hunting. As a result, she relies on Chaoreth to do the majority of the hunting. He feels more than she does, and he does not mind helping her.
Ree does her best, but she is only one small dragon with too much happening in her head.
The First Nest
Five beautiful children. Ree stared at them, her heart a frantic beat in her chest. Chaoreth curled around her, the tip of his tail stroking her flank in a gesture that was familiar and calming.
It wasn't working today.
"Wehavetochooseone?" Ree asked, the words tumbling out of her mouth so fast she couldn't take a breath. "ButtheyareallSoft."
Chaoreth lowered his head until his soft beard fell in front of her eyes. "It was Demona's decree," Chaoreth said gently. "We cannot tell her no."
"Canwe-canwetrade?"
The confusion was clear in Chaoreth's voice as he replied. "Trade?"
"Yes," the Spiral said, resisting the urge to tie herself in a knot. "Oneofusinsteadofthem."
She felt Chaoreth freeze around her. "Ree," he said softly. "That is out of the question. How am I to protect you if I am gone?"
He hadn't understood. There was a wave of relief, followed by the sort of grim determination that settled into her bones and would not be moved.
"Of course," she said, a calm settling over her. She knew what she had to do, and she could only hope Chaoreth would forgive her.
Demona would take none of her children.
