Fireflect came to the Cosmic Cavern alongside her cousin Nightflight, and with him became the first of Jack's pupils. Though she is talented in the ways of fae magic, she found herself envious of the other dragons who went out to patrol the clan's borders and do battle with encroaching Beastclans. The life of an enchanter was simply too dull for her. Fireflect wanted to feel the thrill of the fight.

While her cousin took to the skies each night to explore the magic of the stars, Fireflect instead dedicated herself to learning the ways of the warrior. She learned how to use her magic to strengthen her body, becoming fiercer and more resilient than most other faes in the clan. She adapted traditional battle moves to work with her shorter stature, and found that it could often give her an advantage in a fight against an unsuspecting larger opponent.

Even as she trained ruthlessly to become a fighter, Fireflect did not neglect her magical studies, but rather dove into them with a much greater vigor than she had ever shown. She wished to know every magical tactic that could aid her in battle, seeking to combine the flair of magic with the brute force of physicality to become an unstoppable force on the battlefield. She became especially skilled in the art of pyromancy, raining down fire upon her opponents before striking the final blow herself.
