The brave captain of the Antagonism is a proud and prideful woman, but you couldn't ever stop the strange rumors about the ship. The crew was incredible, managing to do such odd things such as defeat the king of the kelp bed—or rather, the so-called king.

She would always give such hard laughs to her crew's brilliance, as it wasn't just her, of course. She led them, but always saw it better to see it was a team effort for the most part.

A sudden storm had rolled in pretty quickly. The seas acted like a murderous villain in a play, out for a blood in a rhythm akin to an overly excited child ready to act. She swore she had caught a glimpse of another ship in front of them for a second, and that alerted her, quickly getting one of her to crew to look further at the surroundings to find survivors.

And one they did spot. A ridgeback drowning.

Alerting her crew, she managed to get them all close, even through the raging storm. A few of the water dragons she kept on the ship used their magic to calm the surrounding waves, but they were failing fast, she could see it. Deciding to take the plunge, she swam quickly to ridgeback, risking herself to save her, bringing a rope to tie the ridgeback to her.

Hildegard fought through the waves, swiftly, as anxiety and adrenaline were kicking in hard. She knew that they didn't have long if she didn't hurry, and hurrying she certainly was, even as the rope was getting messy and breaking from the strain. Thankfully, it didn't let go, and they managed to get back to her boat; amazingly, her crew made it out of the storm somehow with only minor damage from the waves, but she had a ship always worth the praise.

But on the other end, the ridgeback had really taken a beating. Blacked out from whatever had happened to her and the ship. She at least wasn't dead. But to say about her other crewmates with the ridgeback... yeah, no, tragic accidents do happen on the open seas.

Landing soon to a nearby clan to get her checked out for other damages as a priority, and they did their best to not move her around too much—just in case.

Hildegard had other manners than to watch the ridgeback, but she left in the captain's room, so she would be safe enough. They wouldn't be able to dock anywhere for a few more days, so hopefully the ridgeback would make it. A few days went by, she had left the ridgeback food and water, just in case she ever got woke up. And surprisingly, a few hours before they were able to dock, she saw the ridgeback awake.

Hildegard smiled, and walked to her. "Greetin's, welcome back to the world of the livin', you were asleep for a bit there. We worried there for a bit."

The ridgeback gave her a long look before even saving anything. "You saved me...? What about everyone else...?" She did just survive something pretty dramatic, so Hildegard waited for a short moment.

"Yes, I saved you. But the sea's a dangerous woman, and seein' other dragons drown when I can do somethin' about is easy enough when yer already kinda seaborne, or used to it too." She answered, stopping for a moment, and just let her straighten out into the present moment. "But yer crew, sad to say, didn't make it."

"I... see." She heard a sigh from the ridgeback. "Thank you for saving me."

"Yeah, yeah, but how do you feel? We're almost docked to get you someone to look at ya."

"I'm... okay, I think, but my head is throbbing."

"I see, you should go back to sleep. You'll be woken back up again when we get off board. Also, what is yer name?"

"Memphis."

"Cool, nice to meet ya, now really, go back to sleep." Hildegard ordered, she gave a look to the guardian, but she was right. Sleep might help her right now. Memphis nodded, letting herself go back to asleep. Her dreams empty, from exhaustion.

Hildegard was carefully to move around her to go back to work with the crew. The day was already half over, so she pulled herself back to work. But she was still worried over the ridgeback.

Once they docked, she got the clan healer to come by, Gaia. She gently looked over Memphis with her magic. Gaia nodded as she found what she needed after a few spells. "She's going to be alright," she mentioned as she started to heal her. "It's a minor head injury and some broken ribs, but otherwise, healthy."

Hildegard gave a simple sigh of relief. "Anythin' I can do to help, Gaia?"

"She will be just fine after I heal her, simple rest. Thankfully, after what you told me, I thought she probably got it worse." Gaia smiled.

"Right? She's a tough one."

"Plague dragons generally are." Gaia commented. It was true, for most of them. Unless they decided not to follow the survival instinct and go soft. Hildegard left Gaia to her stuff, and left to go join the crew and do their delivery and get supplies. She had thought about it, and even asked her crew.

She wanted that Ridgeback to join her. Not only that, but she was impressed to survive such a terrible storm. Clearly she was seaborne to a degree, why else was she on such a nice vessel when she saved her? She smiled, in hopes Memphis would join her! All she could do is wait for the ridgeback to awaken once she was well. And so she waited for a week for Memphis to get the green light before she asked her.

It was an easy answer for the ridgeback who wanted to get away, and join the sea. Maybe this time, she wouldn't meet another terrible storm, and the sea would be more welcoming with the right sea crew.
