Believing himself to be a kind of prophet or messiah for the Pithshaper, Hybris leads the cult dressed fabulously in glimmering jewels and shining gold. He claims himself both to be the Pithshaper's mortal form on Sornieth, and its guiding hand. Originally from the Light flight, his youth was spent reeling from a high fever that left him weak and convinced he had been in audience with an oracle he later came to call the Pithshaper.

In his later years, he attempted an infiltration on the Beacon of the Radiant Eye, and was caught by the Lightweaver herself. He was quickly cast out of the Light realm, and wandered, lost, until coming to head a small Arcane-turned-Plague clan once known as the Empress' Domain. Dethroning Helios and Eos, but keeping them like advisers to the newly-forming cult, he sought out to convince the clan of his divine status. Few still remain who believe Helios to be the rightful ruler, their mysterious deaths the final nail in the coffin for their leadership, so to speak.

He has sloughed off his basicly-gened origins, revealing a crystal coat as glittering and glamorous as the stained-glass he has long since worked into his scales.
