ATTICUS IS A FATHER—ALL HE WANTS IS TO CREATE A SAFE WORLD FOR THE REMNANTS OF HIS FAMILY.—He dreams of a place called MEKKA whose glass castles spiral into the sky. What a hope. What a broken fallacy.

With a brilliant brain buried in electric impulse and violent emotion—throttled white by machine logic and years of pain—overgrow like dark, thorn weeds, and perceptions fogged by loss and hopes, distant dreams, too-venomous nightmares whose curling, ghost membranes slither into the weakened edifice of his mind, settling in the squalid form of snakes—only to chew where unhealed hurts still yet remain— he is that which he hath feared most, a Father who has failed.

There are words written into his thighs, carved into his shoulder bones and where his wings reach for the sky, and lost in translation are the words of a dead language; whispers left by his offspring and children and memorialized for his eyes.
