Kasmira brings back bloodied treasures from her raids: the shimmering tails of maren, their salt stains rubbed onto raptorik cloth; longnecks, old and young, wiry wrists rubbed raw by chains; harpy wings, some still attached. Despite the effort that goes into her raids, weeks of planning, of subterfuge, of coordinated lying with the company she trains and commands, Kasimira looks at her winnings with all the interest of a lone cat. She allows her soldiers to take their fair share, to take more if she knows they need the extra treasure, but no more than that. Then she grabs her haul and spends no more than a day exchanging them for treasure. By the next day evidence of the raid is spread across the castle, and Kasimira returns to her barren room. All there is is a featherback pelt for a bed, a desk where she plans the next raid, and a large, scratched cabinet. You'd be forgiven for mistaking her title of Beasthunter to mean one who hunts--not that beasts are much different from common livestock. A dragon who keeps work and play as separate as she can, Kasimira proves to be easy but guarded company--she is suspicious and high-strung, but her friendliness is easily garnered with flattery. She opens up readily when seated behind a pint of something alcoholic and considers herself something like a connoisseur. After she indulges herself in whatever the brewery has, Kasimira starts a friendly fight. Damaged property has little effect on her--she makes plenty of treasure from monthly raids on beastclan villages. Although her room is plain, her cabinet is stuffed with jewellery. |
FAMILIAR This dragon has no familiar. |
The rise of the beastclans did not spring from still waters, no matter how many books claim of an era of 'peace and blessings'. Dragonkind's suppression of beasts lasted long before that mythical breaking point. Still, there existed enclaves of dragons who recognized the organized power imbalance and sought to repair it. They worked side-by-side with beasts, yielded to them, and were taught to be humble and thoughtful. One of these groups walked the southern meadows of the Sunbeam Ruins. Kasimira hatched there. Outside of the meadows and her enclosed clan, dragons dominated over beasts with searing spells and sheer size. Yet Kasimira was forbidden from practicing any magic, even outside the enclave, and made to lower herself as much as possible around beasts so her nose brushed the dirt. "A fair trade, given what we've done," her clanmates would tell her. She was at first annoyed by the culture she was part of. Then she was confused, and later resentful. She began to bow less, to argue more, and to steal from her beast clanmates, selling what was theirs. Eventually she began to kidnap their young to be sold--then, their adults. Her clan would not put two and two together under long after she left and became known as a Beasthunter. |
##############################.. » Before she left her birthclan, Kasimira bought a large stone slab from the Hewn City. It was a reflective shield enchanted in Earth Flight territories that absorbed damage. Upon reaching a certain threshold of damage, it would turn green and shoot a laser of light-based magic, dealing double the damage that it absorbed. » The shield inspired her to go to Dragonhome. There, Kasimira made a name for herself as a solo Beasthunter, targeting primarily longnecks, but occasionally plundering other beasts. |
################################ » Kasimira was approached by Queen Decay and hired. When she isn't actively planning a raid, Kasimira acts as Decay's personal guard. » She has nested with Jove several times at Decay's demand. Although she doesn't feel anything more than friendship, and sometimes protectiveness, toward Jove, she loves her children--particularly her daughters. |
