Biography
One of Alphenalk's older experiments, this one is definitely his biggest failure. Security Cyborg XEAD-002 was meant to be a construct to serve and obey Queen Cerise, a security automaton to protect the palace. They had wandered onto the queen's territory looking for medicine, food and shelter, but was too far gone to save. At least according to her majesty. And how could Alphenalk refuse? It was still his dream to create electronically enhanced dragons, and the queen had sent him a perfect specimen to try with.
All was well, until the power packs were attached, and the 'Mirror' awoke on its own and attacked everything in sight. 002 had no knowledge of who they were before, their mind empty other than a sense of betrayal, hazy memories of pain and hunger, and an inescapable rage. 001 detected the threat and was able to save Alphenalk's life, but not the other helpers at the time. After several attempts to deactivate or reason with 002, Alphenalk was forced to leave and call for help, terrified that if 002 didnt end his life then the queen might. Cerise did not blame Alphenalk, since the mechanical side of the augmentations worked perfectly, so the experiment wasnt a total loss.
Returning to the workshop, they found 001 and 002 still locked in combat, but the workshop was a disaster. They were only able to stop 002's rampage thanks to a large lightning strike from Joule, which caused the cyborg to overload, stunning it temporarily but recharging the power packs. It was decided that Alphenalk would move 002 into one of the reinforced holding cells below the lab, and wait for the failed experiment to run out of power.
Yet despite the growing rust and wear, the power cells refuse to deplete. The Fae was fooled once into thinking 002 was inactive, only to barely escape with his life thanks again to 001. 002, now nicknamed 'Rust', is trapped behind a heavy sealed door, only the red glow of their eyes and the crackle of electricity indicate they are still waiting for Alphenalk to try again.
