Biography
Note to self:
chocolate and white for snapper male in future. starmap/bee/basic combo
!!!!!!
Uranus: an ice giant planet with a lot of gas in its atmosphere too, with its many cloud tops resulting in its light blue colour - the planet is mostly swirling fluids without a true surface and appears to rotate on a tilt, so seemed to match the flexibility and contortion of a spiral, especially since there's so much gas in its atmosphere, so definitely a flying domain.
Neptune: most of its mass is ice/water and it is also the windiest planet in the solar system. Since guardians originate from the reef, they have armored fins which could both be used for swimming and be flared out to protect against winds
Earth: since imps are considered descendants of the first age, from a human perspective it seemed fitting as it's kind of where it all started for our own journey of discovery, and much like earth, have unpredictable lifespans... hahaha. the shape of the female's wings was also really nice for adding the contrasting blue/white/green.
Mercury: the smallest planet and the nearest to the sun, so as faes are the smallest dragon breed, she was chosen to try and depict that really intense radiant light and heat!!
Jupiter: by far the largest of the planets, all of its stripes and swirls are actually windy clouds floating through the atmosphere, so the smoke gene intended to imitate that. it was also a planet that lead a lot of discovery into studies of space. it's a gas giant, so an imp was picked for his large size as a breed, prolonged flight abilities and for being an ancient breed, linking back to the space exploration aspect.
Mars: since Mars formed around the same time as Earth, there is some speculation by scientists that it's possible life on Earth originated from life on Mars, which could
have died out much faster due to its lack of a magnetic field to protect it. it once had very similar conditions to Earth, including liquid water and a similar atmospheric composition, but now appears to be quite a barren wasteland for life. since wildclaws are bipedal, they are suited to long-distance running across open areas, and as they resemble dinosaurs, are kind of a nod towards the early parallels of Mars and Earth. the bar/current genes are meant to resemble its dried riverbeds, and gembond its rocky surface.
Venus: due to the thick atmosphere of Venus, an extreme greenhouse effect takes place, causing it to be the hottest planet, pretty much purely hot rock and tens of thousands of volcanoes. coatls originate from a region of volcanic activity and love the heat, so a XXX Fire coatl was picked to portray the intense volcanic activity and fire of the planet, with the many colours in the shimmer/iridescent/underbelly helping to depict the fire as well as the lighter shades viewed from a telescope since the gases obscure a lot of the colour below.
Pluto: poor little Pluto, only considered a dwarf planet now, but was the planet furthest from the sun, so was heavily shaded and is a very hostile environment with great mountainous regions, ice and wind. It was named after the Roman God of the Underworld, and mirrors are creatures of death and decay. Crystal/facet/glimmer genes were chosen to represent its icy environment shaded from the sun.

Since guardians originate from the reef, they have armored fins which could both be used for swimming and be flared out to protect against winds. The current/okapi genes are intended to represent liquid water and its transitional stages.
Earth: Since imps are considered descendants of the first age, from a human perspective it seemed fitting as it's kind of where it all started for our own journey of discovery, and much like Earth, they have unpredictable lifespans... hahaha. They look very majestic, and I consider our planet to have a lot of majesty, and the shape of the female's wings was also really nice for adding the contrasting blue/white/green within one circular shape.
Mercury: the smallest planet and the nearest to the sun where volcanic activity shaped its surface for millions of years, but is now considered rather quiet and just receives a lot of solar energy. As faes are the smallest dragon breed, she was chosen to try and depict that really intense radiant light and heat!!
Jupiter: By far the largest of the planets, all of its stripes and swirls are actually windy clouds floating through the atmosphere, so the smoke gene intended to imitate that.
