ABOUTxxxxx❝Enjoy your life. ❞
Nangs, even as a hatchling, has always been more 'peaceful' than the other hatchlings, often finding them self in a dream-like daze for most of their adolescence. Their parents and siblings noticed their strange behavior and often got angry at them for not paying attention or not responding. Their father, Nightmare, was particularly harsh, sometimes scolding or aggressively nudging them out of their daze. As a result, they often tried as best they could to not further disappoint their family by forcing their naturally curious nature to be repressed, and through repeated practice and mental training, they have largely succeeded (with only occasional "dazing".). Now they were more 'in the moment' and aware, which their parents appreciated. However, they didn't feel right or happy and instead felt ignorant and sad as they felt they were 'ignoring life's beauty' and what it has to give. Despite their hidden feelings, they stayed this modified way for an excessive amount of years. |
|
One afternoon, Nangs and their father were arguing about why they were 'like this', regarding their tendency to daydream, despite only daydreaming rarely at this point, which was a significant reduction from the previous years. They guess that even daydreaming rarely isn't enough for Nightmare. Their argument grew increasingly heated, till at last Nightmare hit a dangerous ferocity.
He exclaimed in a distant and hateful tone, as if he was speaking to an enemy or a stranger, "You're no longer part of this tribe. Leave at once. You're not worthy to be here."
Nangs, tearful and with nothing left to say, ran to their sanctuary, a small excavation in the ground, which they made during their adolescent years as a calm place from everyone, and going inside seeking refuge from the cascade of emotions they just experienced. They eventually fell asleep in the warm and ambient lighting of the sanctuary. Unfortunately, emotions won't be the only thing cascading that night. Terror, death and destruction manifested itself into every drop of that furious rush of water. The collapse occurred spontaneously, causing a nearly heart-stopping BOOM. Followed by a rumble that shook the few remaining dragons awake who somehow didn't awaken from the boom, including Nangs. The rumble became louder and louder. Suddenly, a male Imperial shrieks "FLOOD! "
Nangs looked out to see what it was, immediately discovering that the Imperial was Nightmare, who was already engulfed in the water and looking at them fearfully. "NANGS, FLY!" was all he could say before being choked and submerged beneath the waves. They had no time to fly, becoming horrified as the sight of water, about 60 ft deep, was rushing at them at incredible speeds. It seized them immediately. It didn't help that they were in a hole, either, which eroded quickly in the rapid cascade. Nangs struggled for air but got hit in the head by a boulder that was in the way of the rushing water. They faded away, all going black.
The next thing they remember is coughing awake, with the coughs so violent they made their body convulse. As they regained consciousness and memory, they look around horrified as they saw that they were in Arcane territory. Miraculously, a friendly dragon helped them. They were a male Pearlcatcher.
He was strange. Why was he out near the Arcane territory boundary? Suddenly he speaks, "I'm Jackson. What happened to you?"
"Flood," Nangs said, gasping still, recounting the fear in their father's face. They started sobbing.
"I know a place you can recover, if you need."
"Thank you." Nangs said gratefully, trying to regain composure.
He guided them, both silent.
They both arrived at this peculiar group of dragons, who looked at them curiously. Jackson said nothing.
Nervously, they say, "I'm Nangs, Jackson nicely guided me here, to your lair. Any chance I can regain my strength here?"
"Of course", said a female coatl, who they later found that her name was Restura.
"You can stay here," Restura said. "Hope it's comfortable enough!"
"Thank you, it is."
As they regained strength over several days, they thought that this group of dragons were like family. They contemplated asking if they can stay. Finally they asked one of the leaders, Sir.
"Sure, welcome home." He said, chuckling.
"Thank you! I appreciate all that you guys have done for me!"
And it remained like this to the present day. Nangs decided to try to replenish their curious nature, and with the help of Talibah, learned the practice of spirituality. They are now an important part of this clan.
