Biography

Interitus
The Inquisitor

“I am just as curious as my father. Not of the workings of mutations and their strains, but of the loyalties of those within this clan. And, like him, I intend to have my answers.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Who is Interitus?

One of the most serious dragons in the Night Parade clan barring his father Fester, Interitus is known well across the members of the clan for two things: his stern demeanor and his unyielding skepticism of other dragons—both clanmates and strangers alike. Rarely does Interitus ever project the sense that he is comfortable, carrying himself with either paranoia or condescension depending on who one asks. During conversations, he openly squints and sneers at things he doesn’t believe are true, and will jostle topics with sudden and drilling personal questions. Even when not performing his job as inquisitor he always seems to try and catch others off-guard; in comfortable situations this may even mean breaking his hard-nosed disposition with a sudden jest or sting of sarcasm.

Place in the Parade

A direct descendant of the first- and second-in-command of the clan, Interitus was destined for greatness. He chose to become Inquisitor, and as the first created his own job description. His primary role within the clan is similar to a police chief, overseeing reports of petty crimes or other civic inconveniences. What gets his blood pumping, however, are when rumors of treason or other forms of betrayal are brewing. It is his job and his alone to get to the root of such accusations, proving them baseless or true. Typically he does so through interrogation, and works closely with some of the Obelisk Guard and Hive spies to achieve his goals. He also monitors relations with other clans and flights, scrutinizing diplomats from a distance until solid evidence of foul play arises. Once a traitor has been found, it is Interitus’s job alone to discipline them in whatever way he sees fit.

Joining the March

Interitus was born into the Night Parade clan as one of Nox and Fester’s first sons. He stood out early on in his hatchling years for his inquisitiveness, questioning everything he was taught and learning quickly through his powers of observation. He became more forceful as he matured, showing little interest in exaltation or devoting himself to the Plaguebringer in any way more than the norm. He developed a deep love for his clan, but in addition came a paranoia that something could ruin the peaceful days he had come to feel nostalgic about. It was in his early adolescence that he proposed the idea of a clan inquisitor to his father, and after much deliberation within the council, he was appointed the role as a coming-of-age ceremony.

Paranormal Activity

Like his father, Interitus’s magic effectively makes him a carrier for all manner of virulent disease. Also like his father, Interitus prefers to keep things physical, and thus coats his blades in Plague energies whenever he is called to combat—or if he simply wants to torture an interrogation subject himself. Unlike Fester, Interitus also has the ability to exhale a red mist, rife with pathogens. While the mist doesn’t spread well enough to be used as a breath attack, it lingers for quite some time, and has a tendency to stick near Interitus. As such, he uses it to bolster his combat ability, and, again, torment interrogation subjects. This dragon truly has a one-track mind.

Familiarized

Scroll Stealer

Boshu serves as Interitus's resident fly on the wall, hiding in shadows and spying on other dragons. His tendency to snoop through and squirrel away important documents also serves as a boon to the Ridgeback, helping him intercept any malicious correspondence or other forms of evidence. Although he is mostly silent and withdrawn, Boshu shares a similar demeanor to his master, and when not going through others' things or skulking about the shadows can usually be found clung to Interitus's shoulder or poking out of his bag.
