Feather closed her eyes and concentrated all her energy into listening, and soon enough, she was able to pick up the faint sound of words. “We have to…” “Wha...” “Co…” A strong gust carried the words further, and soon, she could pick up whole sentences. “Why do we have to? Isn’t there another way?” a high young voice questioned, the quiver of fear apparent in each syllable. “Well, any ideas?” another voice asked, the distinct low rumble of a more mature dragon. Feather made her way closer to the source of sound before the wind died down to a lazy still. Cursing, she settled down with her only choice, to wait. Her affinity with the Wind laid not only in the pale green of her eyes and scales, but in her unique abilities. Every secret whispered caught along the wind and blew to her, every word uttered under one’s breath, every silent prayer. A breeze built up into a stronger gale, and she pricked her ears. “Look,” the older one began. “The only other option to get help, but there’s no one around. So…” Before he finished his sentence, Feather took to the skies. She had to help them.
