Biography

Orianna was born for duty.

Her parents, as told by Master Twilight and Master Jasper, had been warriors who had died on the battlefield. As they had been part of another Clan, one who was aiding the Zephyrim in their fight against a large Beastclan faction in the Shifting Expanse, their names were not recorded. However, with their dying breaths, the two warriors entrusted the care of her - then an extremely young hatchling - to Master Jasper.

Master Jasper quickly admitted he would not be a good father, stating his duty to the flight and Clan came above his duty to family, and so, Orianna was taken care of by yet another couple who were part of the Order of the Aether - Prince and Larka. The Tundra couple was, of course, committed to their duty, but they also knew of the importance of raising a child for the future of the Clan, and so, Orianna grew up learning from the fair-minded couple who adopted her all that they knew, including the art of war.

Given that Orianna was a Nocturne, and her breed's tendency to mimic others' sounds, she was first posted to the Scouts Division, under Master Ylridd, who himself was a Nocturne (though he was mute). After learning to understand Ylridd, Orianna learned how to scout ahead and perform reconaissance, all the while avoiding the attention of the enemy. It was here that she gained her reputation as the Chameleon, and soon, she was transferred to the Covert Operations Division, where she worked with the likes of Master Twilight, Agent Blackfrost, and Agent Nightsky to gather intelligence for her Clan.

Some years passed, and when the Lady Delphine, youngest child to the Lady Gale and Lord Aeolus, was born, Orianna was called to become the Skydancer's personal bodyguard. This was when she was officially inducted into the Order of the Aether.

Her job seemed simple enough: as bodyguard, all Orianna needed to do was to accompany the young Skydancer maiden, wherever she went. But the Nocturne was mistaken in her assumption. Delphine was a strong-willed, independent girl, who was steadfast in her faith in the Eleven gods of Sornieth. She was always eager to visit the shrines within the Clan dedicated to each deity, and Orianna found herself becoming more and more frustrated as the maiden began to avoid her entirely.

After the Stormcatcher decreed that a Skydancer must use his or her life force to keep the evil Leviathan from returning, Delphine was convinced she was perfect for the job. Orianna, along with her parents, spent countless hours trying to dissuade her, but it was all in vain. And when Lord Thalius, the current Dancer, appointed Delphine as his successor, the young Skydancer was elated.

And when Delphine disappeared, Orianna knew. She was going to take on the Trials of the Gods to prove her worthiness. Getting together with another Nocturne, the apprentice seer Sabel, she decided to track Delphine down and accompany her.

Once a warrior, always a warrior - or so the saying goes.
