Biography
Wyrmeye wiggled into his spot, a relatively small gap (for him, anyway) in the coral that he could blend into. His dark colors obscured him and made him seem as if he were just another shadow. He saw Sapphire pass him, and she made no sign that she saw him. He saw a few of the other hiders passed him, and only Nepty had a keen enough eye to spot him in his niche.
At last, Saturn called out that she had started the hunt. He saw her propelling herself all throughout the territory, making use of her speed to check all the easy spots first. She passed Wyrmeye’s spot several times, but never even glanced over because there was absolutely no way an Imperial, of all dragons, could fit there (note the sarcasm).
She started to slow down, when all the obvious spots were either vacated or checked. Saturn stalked across the colorful corals. Eventually she found Nepty, Sapphire, Periwinkle, Ninja, Blue, and Thistle. Everyone but Wyrmeye.
He began to silently swim his way out of his spot, planning several escape routes in case he was spotted. And eventually, the moment came when Saturn announced, “Found him!” in a cheery voice. Immediately Wyrmeye sped off, with Saturn hot on his tail. They swam and swam, a blue shadow and a red blur, until Saturn started to tire.
Wyrmeye, with his higher stamina, never stopped until she shouted that she was all tuckered out and couldn’t swim another inch.
And again, Wyrmeye was declared the Annual Hide-and-Go Seek Champion.
