Shimmer

Known as the Crimson Sunset in the Wind realm, Shimmer is a famous and kind hearted dancer who keeps the peace between the dragons in Stream's lair.

Shimmer was a dancer from a young age. Even when she had just hatched, her wings and body already moved with the elegance of a great dancer. Her aunt was a very influential person in the clan but hid a very jealous side. Jealous of her niece, she forbade Shimmer to ever take lessons and even forced her to sell the gemstones on her body so she would stand out less. Whenever she would go outside, she would look at other Skydancers and their dances to teach herself different styles and moves. During the day she made jewels out of the gems of her wings to help her family and at night she practiced her dancing, getting better and better and years passed.

Eventually, she secretly signed up for a dancing competition without her aunt's knowledge. She used a disguise at the competition so that no one would know it was her. She won the competition by a landslide and become known by her stagename: Crimson Sunset. The beauty of the sunset sky and a nod to her true colours. She danced gracefully on the stage and would occasionally comfort her fans if they needed that. Having had a taste of performance, Shimmer continued to join competitions and win under her alias while managing to keep it a secret from her family. It wasn't long before the Crimson Sunset was known throughout the Wind realm.

Sadly, it is hard to stay anonymous when you are famous and it wasn't long before Shimmer's aunt found out who the Crimson Sunset was. Furious, she stormed into Shimmer's room and attacked her, injuring her heavily before Shimmer's father stepped in. Shimmer's aunt forced the elders of the clan to exil Shimmer from the clan and Wind realm by making up a story about how Shimmer tried to poison her. Shimmer, betrayed and heartbroken, was forced to leave her performer career behind in the Wind realm and traveled east.

When Shimmer came across Stream's lair, she was attacked and injured by a giant shark who was trying to get away from Oceania. Oceania blamed herself for Shimmer's injuries and took her to her chambers to heal up. When Shimmer got better, she noticed that Roy was having a fight with his wife Madena and Fey, who he had birthed children with. Trying to calm them all down before the fighting got worse, Shimmer stood on her painful legs and danced as well as she could. Captivated by the dance, all the nearby dragons calmed down. Stream, who had watched in the distance as she had been called to stop the fighting, offered Shimmer a place in her lair as dancer and psychologist. Shimmer accepted and made a new home for herself, enjoying the joy of performing in front of an audience again.
