Crumbles

An old warrior kept in slumber for many centuries, and awoken by an unknown force. His true name is ancient and harsh on the tongue. So, to avoid any complications, he keeps it hidden and resorts to the name his new charge Arbuus has given him. Crumbles isn't exactly the most fearsome of names, but it will do.

Crumbles was born in the Forgotten Age: a time of war and grief that ravaged the land thoroughly. He lived in a small mountain colony surrounded by glaciers and protected his people's meagre dwellings in what is now known as the Battle of Braninguard Pass. It was there, on the third day of the siege, where Crumbles was swept away by a slide of snow into the Old Caverns. He struggled for an indeterminate amount of time before his eyes grew heavy and he was caught in a cumbersome, icy slumber. He remained in this state for a millenia, encased in layers of frost. The cold stone walls of the caverns kept his icy domain safe from the warming climate beyond.

But as the mountains began to warm from within, the lava underneath beckoned by the rage of Greed's betrayal, the snow around Crumbles started to melt. His eyes eventually opened to watery stone and sweltering heat. Groggily, he made his way out of the caverns and into a place so foreign yet hauntingly familiar to him. No longer was the valley lined with makeshift huts and downy snow. Crumbles instead found himself in a valley lush with foliage and sunshine, the hills of his childhood barely recognizable.
