Biography

Haj Ibrahim Abu ("father of") Nabil, memorial dragon for my grandfather who passed away on March 20th 2019, ~20:20 due to old age, may he rest happily in peace with his siblings , friends and parents. He was 84 years old.

He loved his family and always asked to various members. He is survived by 8 children and 22 grandchildren. He made sure all of his children got an education and was blessed to have seen all of their own children (many of whom had started graduating schools and colleges). I am his eldest grand daughter and was beat to the title of eldest grandchild by my cousin, who is 6 days my senior (darn it!). Him and I share July as our birthday month and he shares his first name with my older cousin.

He loved nature and would tend to his garden as best as he could, often asking for his grandchildrens' help whenever one of us happens to be on the scene. All of us who are old enough to eat have picked and tasted the fruit from the various trees in the garden he worked vigorously to maintain. He would repeatedly instruct us to pick whatever fruit was available, even if we were full or late to an appointment. We planted numerous ("close to a hundred", my uncle said) of trees and bushes in the garden in his last months with us. He also loved to watch animal documentaries, even though he didn't understand English at all. He would often point out the different animals to me and I would often watch along with him. He had several parrots, baby chicks and a couple of bunnies (they poop a lot, apparently) over the years, and loved to set them loose in the house (much to my grandmother's dismay and his children's delight). We still joke about it. He tried his best to teach the parrots to speak, with some being more successful than others. The last one eventually won my grandmother over when he started to imitate her morning greeting ("Baoosi/I see you") when she lifted it covers for the morning. One of my last memories with Jeddo was when laughed at the fact that I work with lab animals and suggested that we smuggle some into the house and the beds. It was the last time I saw him smiling. He passed his love of animals to my brother and I.

He was devout and carried out his religious duties. He also prayed and carried out the religious duties of his deceased family members. I hope he is at peace. All of us will be reunited eventually and I hope he'll be proud of what we become until then. We love you. Thank you for everything.

To be given: Jupiter, many more animal companions and possibly underbelly.
