Ten's a mysterious one. She runs Hollowtown's general store, from which the residents buy their vegetables, milk, bread, tools, sacks of grain, dreams, and candles.

What was that? Ah, dreams.

Yes, Ten sells bottled dreams for quite reasonable prices. They're available for perusal down the back, all in rows on big heavy shelves. They swirl in all sorts of shapes and oily, iridescent colours; the dreams murmur and the nightmares gleam wickedly.

watches it disappear.

vacant eyes watch the sun set,
and no one sees as she disappears with it.
