Biography
Her claws clicked briskly along the cold sidewalk, her gentle poise and enchanting elegance betraying a venomous side.
She turned quickly into the cafe. There, she paused, taking in the sweet scent of crispy croissants and creamy coffee. Her guilty pleasure. It was a rare treat indeed, with all this work she found herself with these days. The cashier, a youthful Imperial boy, addressed her warmly. "Could I help you, mam?" She giggled and shuffled further into the warm building. "Could I get a macchiato, please?" He nodded, moving to get a better look at the regal Pearlcatcher. "Vanilla or caramel?" "Caramel." He nodded softly and clicked into the cash register quickly. "That'll be 50 treasure." She nodded and handed him the coins. While he started on her foamy coffee treat, she received a call.
"Hello?" The dragon on the phone shuffled uncomfortably. "Hiya, Kady, I know you just went out for a break, but boss says-" She chuffed impatiently. "Honestly, at this point, I couldn't care less what boss says. I'm in the middle of something. I'll be back in less than an hour. He can wait." He seemed to quiet for a moment. "I don't really want to talk to him... He seems mad... Can't you just come back..?" She reached up to take her coffee and walk back to the table. "No, if you get fired that's not my problem. He can't fire me. He doesn't have anyone as good as me. Anyway, knowing him, he's probably just excited he's found a new project. Probably some stupid showcase nearby. Either way, I'm busy. Talk to me later."
She closed her phone, leaning over her coffee cup. She inhaled the sweet creamy scent, relishing her time alone. She took a long careful sip, serpentine tongue unfazed by the scalding liquid. Gently, she licked away the foam from her jaws carefully. Gah, it was such a treat. Decadent and smooth, the coffee slid down like a warm cream. "Mmm..." She mused quietly, standing up to get the waiters attention. "Could I get a scone with this?"
Filled with warm coffee and plush scones, Kadence was in a rather good mood on her mission. Sure enough, she was right about her bosses excitement. He had found out about a showing downtown by a wealthy business owner who had gotten his grubby mits on a priceless massive 23kg piece of black opal. In her pleased state, she made no mistakes. She carefully slunk inside through an open window, movements fine and precise. The only sounds she made was small clicks of her claws against the marble floor. It was an easy job. She checked the mechanism beneath the gemstone, took a moment to break it by snapping a wire with her teeth, this wire being the one connected to the alarm. She then simply stood up, pressed a button to open it, and picked it up. Just as easily as she'd strode into the building, she slipped out, walking out of sight of the cameras, and vanishing out the window.
Another successful job. Maybe another treat would be involved? Maybe this time she'd invite the sweet little cafe boy for some as well...
