Lightning Faction Concubine

Mosaic had been the tragic accident between a Light Guard and his unfortunate mother, who had served as a nanny for the royal children. The previous Light ruler, the Queen mother of Eseld and Ophelia, had such a strong bond with the mother that after she passed from the stress of the pregnancy, she took in Mosaic.

Mosiac, despite being the son of a servant, was raised along with the royal siblings. He lived a luxurious life in the castle and had a close friendship with both of them. He benefited from a tutor and learned much of how the Light faction works.

During a meeting with the allied Lightning Faction, Mosaic met the Lightning Pharaoh himself, Xialong. He had thought nothing of the encounter, unaware that he had wooed the young pharaoh. Eseld, seeing this as an opportunity, asked Mosaic for a grand favor -- to offer himself up in order to strengthen ties between the two factions. As such, Mosaic would work similarly to a spy, keeping tabs on the Lightning Faction's inner workings and relaying them to Eseld should they ever threaten the Light Faction.

He agreed, despite his own reservations and moved to the shifting expanses to become the concubine of the Lightning Pharaoh. He continues to live in luxury, but now feels alone in a territory that feels utterly foreign to him. The mechanic and dry city of the Shifting Expanses is nothing like his old home in the Sunbeam Ruins. He feels shy and awkward in the face of Xialong's love, guilty about being Eseld's inside man and also intruding on the married couple. As a result he distances himself from Xialong.

After moving, he received word that his estranged father -- the disgraced Light guard -- had had another hatchling. Mosiac immediately went looking and met his half-brother, Eion, a hatchling his father had abandoned shortly afterwards. With Xialong's blessing, Mosiac brought Eion back to the palace and now spends his days as Eion's guardian, taking care of the young dragon.

• Stop Ambrosia's attempt to court his younger brother
• Stay as far away from Lenora as possible
• Find the courage to quit being Eseld's inside man
