Biography
In a nest of three only Alp hatched. The other two eggs were still. A faint beat in one and nothing in the other. His parents hoped and coiled around them breathing magic into the nest to help however they could. He watched them work not understanding their anguish. In the end one of the eggs hatched but the other was a lost cause. His parents burned it. When he asked why they said you never bury an imperial. That he would understand later if he wasn't born with shortened time.
His sibling, Maycee, was the joy of his life. They were inseparable. They had many siblings but nothing matched their connection as nest mates. Soon their parents had another nest and another egg was unable to hatch. During their games Maycee saw their parents building the fire. To Burn another lost egg. Panicked Maycee ran from Alp and to her parents. Snatching the egg and running into the nearby forest. Her parents darted for her and searched high and low calling out for her but Alp snuck pass them. He knew where she would be and he was right.
She sat wrapped around the egg keenly listening to it. Alp tried to explain that their parents knew what they were talking about and Maycee hush him. She said it was speaking. It said she had to let it out. Before Alp could ask what she meant, she clawed into the egg. The tips cracking in as her jaw ripped off what they could and suddenly they were engulfed in darkness. When their parents found them there was no egg, no shell, nothing. Maycee smiled wagging her tail has her parents scowled her and asked where the egg went. She shrugged and then turn to Alp to play.
Maycee's play turned harsh as she grew she became slightly cruel. Hurting other and claiming it was just a game. She always seemed to treat him with kid gloves but others were fair game. Some days she would go and sit by the fire pit looking at the ashes. He swore she heard her whisper something about she could of been here so much sooner. But she cut herself off when she noticed him staring and playfully tackled him instead.
One day she hurt someone, badly. His sister, in shock at what she had done fled, and he followed. She tried to explain she didn't mean to. Just something in her said to do it and she did. She was suppose to feel bad but she didn't and she didn't understand why. Alp took one last look back at his old home and then smiled at her. That everything was fine and that it was time for an adventure and Maycee followed.
It wasn't fine. She got worse and Alp didn't know what to do. They traveled to a land of light as Alp researched old magics and drew power from benevolent sources. His sister would go missing for days and come back giggling to herself with a pained expression. One day he followed her and watched in horror as she took down a wandering Imperial. Multiple head peeling away from her body has she devoured the dragon and dragging it into her body. Her extra limbs and heads. They reminded him of that darkness that day with the egg. That this is the reason his parent got rid of the unhatched eggs.
He grew wary of her but he couldn't leave her. She was still his sister. She still acted like the sibling he always knew. There had to be something he could do for her.
They had wandered to a land of luscious nature and awoke to a dragon nearby. It was pink and small. A coatl, it seemed, and it said it could help. Alp was about the ask what the coatl wanted that it wasn't safe with them but he noticed Maycee staring at the dragon with dark eyes and the coatl smiled, staring right back. His sister blinked and gleefully turned to Alp saying they should follow.
