Biography
Ketamime
——
It is nighttime in the depths of the tropical rainforests. There should be little activity here, but more is running amok than a normal eye would be able to catch. Flying silently from tree to tree, a young dragon by the name of Ketamine prepares to catch her prey. Her sharp eyes scan the area, acutely tracking the runaway food. As she flies, a rare mistake comes, her wings snapping against branches.
She stumbles to the ground, growling very softly and shaking herself off before continuing. Even with the hinderance of her wings, it should be no problem for her to catch and eat her meal. In the cold night, she thrives here. Dawn will not come for a few more hours, and her prey can not have gone far. Her nostrils pick up the faint scent of a delicious meal, and she begins to pick up into a sprint.
Still able to leap and climb, she scales trees, ascending ever higher to track a small group of poisonous moths. Her slim body blends in well with the thick trunks of the rainforest’s trees her eyes constantly scanning for anyone who might steal her dinner. Finally, she is closing in. But at the last minute, another predator has come and gone. They stole her meal. The moths are gone.
Ketamine thinks of a new strategy and thinks on it without hesitation, leaping through each tree without words. She prepares her tummy toxin, ready to get a bigger meal, as the grub theif looks very big and tasty. There comes a point in the forest where this land creature cannot keep running, and she knows this. A single concentrated leap and bite, and it’s all over. The predator, a boar with a strong stomach, is dead, and it’s all hers to eat. She’ll have to wait for her wings to heal, but for now her meal has been secured. She’ll be full for days now.
No one knows where it came from, coming close to observe the creature comes with a great risk of getting killed. An unknown creatures of the wilds within the jungle is Although its neon markings make her a bit too obvious at night, spotting it is the only easy part of observation. Fleeing once spotted is the hard part. It is both agile and poisonous/venomous, and the mortality rate of any of its victims exceeds ninety percent. Its exact origins and track pattern are largely unknown, meaning preventing ambush and death is near impossible. The critter is mostly nocturnal, hunting with its sharp night vision and smell. It is easy for it to kill prey using its stored toxins, and its diet consists largely of such poisonous creatures so it can replenish its toxins to kill future prey, which is stored in a see-through tummy as a mix of dull purple sludge. Her neon markings are usually only visible to other creatures capable of seeing ultraviolet, but for unknown reason, they can be visible to regular eyes from time to time, perhaps a warning signal of sort. Larger creatures are sometimes its meals as well, as it can usually plan unique on-the-fly strategies to take down creatures as large as anacondas and boars in order to make them her meals. It is highly recommended to run as fast as possible should you head outside at night and spot the faint glower of purple or yellow in the brambles of tropical rainforest. Lore by shadowforestdrag |
