"What do you think?"
He cleared his throat, trying to buy himself more time. Truth be told, he wasn't even paying attention. "Think about what... Sir?"
The High Commander's eyes rolled in their sockets. His friend, on the other hand, chuckled, fairly amused by it all.
"About the girl, runt. Would she be willing to join the defense army of our Clan?" Thistle fiddled with his locket as this one spoke, clearly not paying attention again, but this time, his ears picked up on the question nonetheless. He stopped fiddling and looked up into the High Commander's snout.
"I... I don't know, Sir.", he muttered silently.
"Of course he doesn't know, give the lad a break.", added Lazar with a smirk on his face. "He only came here recently, did he not? Perhaps he should first get to know the lady before handing out comments on what she may or may not be willing."
As Lucius rolled his eyes once again, Lazar nudged the fresh addition to the Clan. "Go on, she's right there. Introduce yourself. Talk to her. It's only polite."
"Y-y-yes, Sir.", Thistle nodded and turned around. There were a bunch of females around, chirping and chatting away with each other or other clanmates, but the subject of his task was alone, basking in the warm sunlight and looking like she'll fall asleep any minute.
Making sure his throat was clear and his voice was not hoarse, he slowly trotted over, knowing full well the two mentors were right behind him, staring all the way.
As he approached the girl, his bravery left him and all that was left was a stuttering young imperial. But she proved to be chatty enough for both of them, and soon enough, he relaxed enough to hold his own in the conversation.
As the two conversed, the two males did keep their eyes locked upon them; one still grinning slyly while the other one placed a paw over his snout, rolling his eyes one last time with a long sigh. The gesture did not go unnoticed by his partner.
"What is it now, Lucius? Your eyes got stuck to the back of your skull?", he asked with a chuckle.
"No. I'm just... amazed. The boy went up to the wrong girl."
The one named Lazar let out a hearty chuckle, attracting some attention from the surrounding dragons. "No matter, dear friend. We may be witnessing the birth of a new couple, and for that, I'm willing to let his blunder slide."
