Nyx was hatched alone in the dead of night, enveloped by velvety black of true darkness. Not the paltry grey-black color that most are used to, nor the rich blue-black that you see while star-gazing; no, it was the type of darkness that sends chills down your spine, the darkness that makes one remember a primordial fear of the things that go bump in the night— a remnant of an ancient time when one’s ancestors actually had something to fear.
