Biography

"Would you dare look under the mask of a phantom?"

Saya was one a beautiful dragon, who was beloved by her former clanmates. Oneday though, when she was in an errand in the Abiding Boneyard, one of the sickly creatures created from The Wrymwound attacked her, spewing a magic-laced acid onto her face. She barely survived the attack, and began her way home. But as she began her journey home, her face began melting away more and more, until only her skull and eyes were left.
When she arrived home, her clanmates surrounded her, asking what had happened and treating to her wounds. Saya told them not to worry, and pushed past them. As walked away, screaming rang out from the crowd behind her. She turned around to find a terrible site to behold; all of her friends and family members, they were melting, as if they were made of snow. Saya ran back to them and tried her very best to stop them from melting away, but to no avail. Everyone had dissolved into the soil before she could scream help. Saya wept at the spot where her clanmates had died until she fell asleep, burying her head onto her wings.
When she awoke, she heard the soft chirps of her pet finch, Cheeky. She lifted her wings and saw him chirping beside her, gazing up her with glee. She smiled at his little song, but then Cheeky began cawing, as if he was hurt. Then, just like her family had just hours ago, he began melting away. Saya watched in horror, frozen by fear. "Why is this happening?!" Saya cried out. "Why is everyone dripping away as if they are ice in a desert?!" As Saya pondered this question, a sudden wave of realization hit her. "Could it be.... it is I who caused them to die? Was my melted and scarred face horrifying enough to melt them all together?" She said to herself. Saya then searched for a mirror. When she found one and saw her reflection, she was horrified at what she had become. "It is true then. It must be true!" She said backing away from the mirror. "I....I killed them!" She shrieked. "Hmm, it appears so." Said a voice behind her. She was tempted to turn around and face them, but not only did she didn't want anyone else to die, but she was paralyzed with fear. "W-Who are you?!" Saya demanded. "Someone who is willing to help you." The voice said again, then the sound of beating wings filled Sayas ears, and something was placed over her head. "What am I wearing upon my face?" Saya asked. A Corven emissary suddenly landed in front of her. "A mask." It said, looking up at her with mysterious brown eyes. "I honestly don't want to be turned into a bird soup. And I presume you don't want anyone else to become a cup of flesh, correct?" It added. Saya nodded yes, and the Coven chuckled lightly. "I thought not." It said. "I do believe I asked who you are." Saya said. "Ah yes, you did. I am called Tor, my lady." It said with a bow. "I am Saya." Saya replied, bowing in return. "And may I inquire why you are here?" Saya added. "I wish to help you my lady." Said Tor. "Your pain is a sad sight to behold, and I wish to remove it." "But why?" Saya asked. "I simply wish to be good at heart." Said Tor. "You want money." Saya said, thinking it was a trick. "No, I want nothing in return, I swear. Please, allow my to help you with removing this curse and returning you to your former state." Tor said. Saya thought for a moment, before saying yes.
Now, Tor and Saya travel together, testing out spells and elixirs, memorizing runes and rituals, trying everything to find a counterspell to demolish Sayas curse.

Because of her curse, Saya is a depressed dragon who tends to stay away from other dragons to keep them safe from her curse, going out mostly at night time, when only the Noctunes and Shadow dragons are awake. When she does chose to befriend someone, she changes her gloomy attitude and acts more like her old self; sweet, playful, and kind.
