CONSCIOUSNESS's Thoughts

My first. My precious, perfect first. Even as my hive grows, he will always be special to me. They appear to be no more than a standard drone, and to other CONSCIOUSNESS', yes, they are a standard DRONE. To me, however, they is special. Perfect in my eyes. They were specially selected to be my first DRONE, to help me make more for my hive, and expand. In fact, I think I'll link to the story here, so any curious CONSCIOUSNESS may take a peek at the story of my first.

After a finished building my hive, it was time for me to find my first drone. I choose to search for them in the place the call the 'Southern Icefields.' I didn't want those near me to suspect my arrival so soon.

I scouted the lands, making sure not to stray to far from my home. Before long, I found a clan who had a some recently hatched hatchlings that I believe had the potential to be my first. The female was out of the question straight away. I needed to be able to reproduce, and I couldn't do that with her. This left three males.

I eliminated one of the other skydancer male first. I watched the hatchlings' sleep, and when the slightest noise occured, he would wake quickly and rush over to sleep with his parents. Yes, his past traits wouldn't carry over if he was properly assimilated, but his cowardness turned me off from him.

Now all that remained was the snapper and the remaining skydancer. Both seemed like viable candidates in the beginning, but the snapper quickly showed to the arrogant and prideful, choosing to ignore commands from others. The skydancer, however, his obedient, and quickly followed orders. Like previously mentioned, no personality would pass on if assimilation is done right, but there was another factor. The snapper, while he slept through much, quicked and bucked in his sleep, and would have made travelling with him difficult. The skydancer, however, slept deeply and peacefully.

I made my decision in the day, and that night I snuck into the lair once again with ease (the guards outside were horrendous, could barely stay awake most of the time). I carefully picked up my chosen one, not disturbing anyone. Once he was safely secure in my arms, I was gone like a flash, flying through the night back to my hive.

Once we arrived at my hive, I made my way to the assimilation chamber. Upon my arrival, in injected my assimilation fluid into him through the mouth, and somewhat surprisingly, he even slept through this. I gently placed him into a cocoon on the wall, just in case he woke up and attempted to escape. I then went to my own chambers to rest, and when I woke again, my new prize was ready. And it was perfect.
