Solaris is consort to the Pirate Queen, Gingersnap. He is her mate and bodyguard. He has fought beside her on many a battle and adventure. They have been on countless hunts and scavenging expeditions together and he has rightfully earned her favor.

He is a viciously loyal and disturbingly fast companion. On several occasions, he has killed a threat without Gingersnap having time to perceive the threat in the first place. Even with this speed, he has had a few close calls, and has some scars to show for it. After a particularly nasty fight with an opposing Mirror, Gingersnap begged Solaris to start wearing armor. He consented only to a helmet.

Gingersnap showers him with many baubles and shiny things, as a way of showing her own love and devotion to him.
