Biography

Mith Spellbook
Veda stands alone in a cold, dark room. She has no torch to light her way, no clothes to keep her warm. All she has, is a worn spellbook that’s lying at her paws. It’s incredibly small, most probably not made for dragons. But that’s all part of this experience. Veda picks up the tiny tome, and tries her hardest to make out the words in the dark. There’s a spell in here that will help her leave the room, possibly. Or at least something to help her light up the room so she can solve this puzzle in another way. She’s sure of it.

But as she flips through the book, Veda finds nothing. Nothing useful, nothing even coming close to useful. She decides to carry the book with her as she carefully scouts around. The room is sealed, no visible doors or windows, but in a corner she finds wood. Firewood, to be exact, together with some stones. Veda knows exactly what to do, and she starts a fire with ease. The room lights up a little, but a little is enough for Veda to see the countless of bones strung up on the ceiling. Some of them small, some of them big, arranged like a collection of wind chimes in a room that probably has almost no natural airflow. Maybe those are part of the puzzle? Veda looks through the tome again, but sees no spells that mention bones or chimes.

But as she’s about to give up and put the tome away, Veda notices something. New text has started to appear on the pages, triggered by the heat of the flames. The runes that pop up are old, but Veda has studied magic for long enough to instantly remember them. It’s a trapping hex, the very thing that is probably keeping her locked in this room in the first place. Without hesitation, Veda throws the tome into the fire to break the spell.

Veda teleports outside as soon as the last page of the tome burns up.
