Hailing from a small unnamed town under the darkness of Shadow, Chatoyant quickly grew bored of her life in the uneventful town. After she was old enough, the spiral set out on an adventure to make her life more exciting. Chatoyant was always a romantic at heart, shoving her snout into all the love novels she could find, picturing herself as the main character. However, the Spiral could never find a suitable partner, which frustrated her to no end. But, Chatoyant remained optimistic and kept searching for someone to call her significant other..

In a fit of desperation, Chatoyant decided to stray off her path and try to get lost in the Foxfire Bramble. With this, she met a strange Skydancer that never spoke or acknowledged the Spiral's presence. All the dragon cared about was a large tree that was black and spread its thorny roots around the area. Chatoyant was fascinated with the dragon and tried to befriend it, however, it soon grew annoyed at the Spiral's constant questioning and attacked her out of rage. In recoil, the Spiral knocked over a lantern that was behind her and set ablaze to the Skydancer's precious tree. As Chatoyant watched the tree wither away in the flames, she noticed the Skydancer wither away like the tree. In her shock, the Spiral tried to flee and came across a claw sticking out of the ground right beside the burning tree. Feeling a sense of adrenaline, Chatoyant dug out the dragon, who looked very similar to the withering Skydancer and fled from the area with the lookalike. |

Neither Chatoyant nor the rescued Skydancer wishes to speak about what happened after this experience, or how the Skydancer had a doppelganger and why she withered away with the burning tree. When the Skydancer is asked about it, she grows gloomy and always walks away on her own, leaving Chatoyant to run after her and try to cheer her up. The two are an odd couple, but somehow they fit perfectly. As the Skydancer refuses to name herself and rarely speaks, Chatoyant decided to name her Lovely. She likes to shower Lovely with compliments, as the Spiral knows she's quite insecure about herself. Chatoyant has taken upon herself to become a writer and make her own romance novels, ones that don't have her own pet peeves. She often reads them to Lovely and stores them in Tianshi's library for any reader who has similar tastes to the Spiral. |
