VALEN
"Yeah, yeah, I see what you mean...I'm a right horrible arm of the law, ain't I?"


The other "respectable" member of the Burrows - in this case, he's an officer. Originally tasked with investigating the inn when a suspicious delivery came through its doors, Valen came at the exact right time to witness a freak explosion of magic and testing. The chaos that ensued must have done something to him, because thereafter he moved in and happily started to mingle with the less-than-savory visitors. Now he writes a report to his superiors and mentors once in a while that everything is totally fine and legal here, yes sir!

Valen has made friends with pretty much everyone who regularly visits, not that it's hard for someone of his charisma. He's also got a cheerful sort of vitriol with Heddwyn, the priest - the two take turns deriding each other for staying in such a shady place, while very happily taking up a room of their own. Out of obligation to his career, Valen will give a minor speech or a warning along the lines of "you know that's illegal, right?" to anyone in the Burrows, but it's half-hearted at best.
