Kota can best be described as being Lawful Neutral. She is a leader of her clan so she is the one to make the rules that the others abide by. Whether those rules she makes are good or bad is up to debate. To her, her rules will always be good for her children.

Lore

Kota looked out over the gathered dragons sitting at her paws. The interior of the gathering hollow within the Rotten Ridge was extra moist and smelly from all the dragon bodies warming up the chamber. She crinkled up her snout. This day turned out to be rather bothersome. One of the hatchlings she was caring for decided to play in the pustule creek and came down with some foul disease. Foolish child. Just because they were the plague flight it didn’t mean that they didn’t get sick! The next bothersome thing was the matter of territory. They were all so scattered, the Hunters, but it was even more so with the Starfall Isles. There was no outpost there for them to rest because none have been able to hold it for longer than two weeks before something chased them off. Thus, she was now faced with her Hunters all gathered and stinking up her home.

“It’s simple,” said Kadachi, “I am the General of the Hunters! I can hold that measly outpost in that pink land of airheads!”

That comment earned a ferocious snarl from one of the other dragons in the chamber. She was a Bogsneak female cradling a large bottle of swirling purple mist. Kota inwardly shuddered at what may be held within that glass bottle. The snarling Bogsneak’s fangs gleamed in the gloom as she snapped at Kadachi, “You jerk! I was born in the Arcane flight! The radiation makes the beastclan strong and unpredictable in those lands!”

Kadachi scoffed with his snout pointing upward. “I can handle some pathetic beastclan. I am the best hunter this clan has!”

Kota had enough of the arguing. It wasn’t getting them anywhere. She slapped her forepaws down on the ground and barked, “Kadachi, Spooky, shut up! Your arguing is pointless and not finding us a solution. Kadachi, you are already in charge of the Western domains as the Commander-”

Kadachi interrupted with a sniff, “General.”

“Silence,” commanded Kota. She was satisfied when she saw him lower his head a little, although she could see the gleam of defiance in his eyes. “Therefore I believe it is prudent for us to send someone out who hasn’t had the chance to manage an outpost.”

“I can do it,” came a voice that she wasn’t expecting.

The entire chamber turned their heads toward a young Ridgeback that was far younger than Kadachi. His white scales stood out bright in the gloom and the golden runes adorning his body shimmered handsomely. Kota was proud of him for speaking up, but worried. The outpost in the Starfall Isles has proven to be difficult to manage. Spooky was not wrong when she said that the beastclan in the Starfall Isles was unpredictable. The radiation was almost as bad as the diseases that poured from The Wyrmwound. Kota could only bring herself to ask Reran one question, “Are you sure?”

“Yes,” answered Reran as he puffed out his chest, “I can reclaim our Outpost and maintain it. I am a Hunter after all.”

Kota stared at Reran and then slowly nodded. “Very well. Go. We look forward to hearing of your success Reran.”

In the edges of her vision, Kota could see the seething glare in Kadachi’s eyes. She knew he thought her a fool, but she also thought he was one for trying to stretch himself more. She just prayed to the Plaguebringer that Reran would be successful so that she wouldn’t have to suffer one of Kadachi’s You-should-have-picked-me rants.

____Kota is often referred to as Her because of her significance to the clan. She is the one that brought the clan together, sort of. She oversees the Rotten Ridge, a small ridge that comes off Rotrock Rim. On the slopes is where the main den for the clan is, nestled in the twisting and rotting vegetation that is fed by a creek of disease that comes from The Wyrmwound. Kota’s charge is the very same Rotten Ridge, which came as a complete surprise to her in her youth when she was on her Search. It never occurred to her as a nature flight born dragon that she would be the guardian of a tiny stretch of land in the Plaguebringer’s domain. She hates it that Kadachi will often remind her of that irony.

____Kota’s familiar is a peculiar Bogsneak Puppet that has been enchanted, likely as some shadow flight dragon’s prank. The magic cast upon it however has proven useful for Kota. She uses its ability to detect liars with the hatchlings she raises. With her familiar’s aid, she has been able to reduce the amount of mischief her little charges get up to in their dangerous home. She has often used her familiar on Kadachi as well. She really can’t trust that Ridgeback as far as she can throw him.

Kota really seems like such a good plague mamma. I still find it hilariously ironic that she was hatched in a nature flight!
