Pygmalion

Pygmalion had always been very lonely as a dragonet. So when he was no more than a mere child, he decided he wanted to build himself a friend. So he did.

It took him all of two days, putting his intense focus into it, but before long, he had created something - someone - beautiful, a Skydancer his age with deep, shimmering coppery color, with wings likened to his own and a torso marked almost like a bug.

Whatever he did, though, Pygmalion could not get her to turn on - which led to him turning to Lilith, the strange witch that had come to this clan of dragons. She agreed to help him, but made him promise her that when the time was right, Pygmalion would help her. Reluctantly, he agreed, and he brought her to his creation.

With a wave of her talon, Lilith brought her to life.

She had new, inset glowing stones in her which gave her powers, and made those white eyes light up, backlit with blue.

He named her Galatea, and at a first glance, she seemed like any other dragon. She moved like one, she spoke like one. Whatever magic Lilith had used had even made her feel like one, making her scales soft and her hair and feathers softer.

As they grew older, Pygmalion and Galatea grew closer, and eventually fell in love. She assured him that despite being his creation, she could very much think on her own and her feelings were genuine. He felt happy for the first time in a long time.
