Sometimes, when one sits alone under the vast open skies, watching the stillness of the stars, that stillness seems to break. Just for a moment, and one may pass it off as a drifting cloud. Yet it is not a cloud. It is Astrum, the goddess of starlight. She is the strongest on clear nights, far from the light of civilization, weakest on cloudy nights. She is the twinkle when one glances from one star to another, the shimmer of a full moon on a clear night. She is the joy within those quiet moments, under the vast open skies. She is the light of the stars.

Astrum is a minor deity, far below her creator Windsinger and his ilk, yet above common folks. She rarely mingles with either group, preferring to watch their machinations from afar, from her home in the clouds. She sometimes does touch down to speak to those of the earth, in the form of a young imperial with swirling patterns across her coat, to give warning or advice or inspiration. She loves every one of her worshipers.

Astrum is rarely worshiped any more. She has always been a minor deity, never had many followers. Those few followers were often painters and poets, artists and dreamers, those who really could appreciate the beauty of the night sky. Clan Flygefisk has one small shrine to Astrum, hidden away in a small hut near the edge of the Orchard. Her sacred items are moonstones and blue flowers, always included in her shrines. They may also include paintings or old instruments, as she is a god of creativity as well.
