"What isss 'Good'? What isss 'Bad'?" Clicking and rustling of scales sliding against one another fill the silence of the dark room. Eyes are all you see, the occasional glint of light from outside on scales otherwise hidden in darkness. Herbs and smoke burn your nose, and you can hear the hissing of a familiar as terrifying as the dragon you've stumbled upon. "You're ssscared? What'sss to be done... about that?" A chortle of laughter more gleeful than the situation seemed to call for sends a shiver down your spine. "Good.... Bad... what are these but strengths and faultsss in every one of us? Black and white aren't an.. acceptable color palette unless you mix the hues. Why isss life any different?" More clicking and laughter echo like an eerie nightmare, coming from everywhere at once. You can see those eyes... spinning... an optical illusion maybe, but they seemed to hypnotize you into standing still. In reality.. your fear is more likely the culprit. But shuffling blame is what we do. Now your thoughts are beginning to sound like him. You need to get out... "I like to believe... we are all made of colorsss. Bright... soft... Light and dark. Different hues all ssswirling together to make one masterpiece. What makesss a person sour, or their colorsss to darken? Why... that's up to the artist. Themselves. Ssso what about you?" With a suddenness you begin to realize that a dragon's face has come into light mere inches away from your face. His eyes are wide but you can't tell whether it's curiosity or... something else. "What... will your colorsss be?" Heartfelt laughter that makes you feel more empty inside fills the room and the mirthful Spiral hands you an item. "Ussse it.. Wisely~ You are free to go. You have what you came for. It'sss up to you what you do with it." And just like that, the dragon slipped back into the darkness and your fear finally sets you free and allows you to run far away, laughter trailing your retreat.
