Biography
Furi
Head Scribe, Scribe of Ancient History and Song
The valley is a beautiful sight. Gazing from the main gate, you see while it is in truth a valley, it is still absolutely full of wind. The cliff walls around the valley, on closer inspection, are honeycombed with holes that seem especially designed to let wind in, but keep the valley secret from land based creatures. You are curious, however, how the place doesn’t get more visitors from above… “The wind that brought you here also dissuades most incoming dragons from flying in,” said a clear, intelligent voice from behind you. You whirl around and see, curled around a rock smoothed from years of such use, a mint-green Spiral. She pushes back her hat, fixing her Wind eyes on yours. “You see,” she went on, “The wind arrives through the cliffs, heavy with tales. They visit with us Scribes in the valley, and when they are lightened of their burden they rise up through the top to rejoin the Windsinger. They are so happy to fly again that they.. Well, they leave in a rush. Not many dragons are that powerful of flyers. So we don’t get too many visitors from above, just a few who are very determined to fly against the wind. And when those dragons visit again they usually walk.” The Spiral uncoiled herself from her rock to walk beside you. “My name is Furi. I am the Head Scribe of The Scribes of The Descant Winds. I offer you hospitality as long as you stay, as long as you are ready to listen to what the wind has left us to tell you.” Furi smiled and pushed her hat back in place as you near an ancient grove of bamboo. The sound of the chimes in this grove toll deeply and slowly, if trying to remember events long past. But there is musicality in the chimes that makes your heart dance with life. “I am the Scribe of Ancient History and Songs. I remember Windsinger’s teachings, and sing the old songs that they may not be forgotten. This… is my passion.”

For Furi:(a dragon after my own heart )
Hark - the windchimes in the mountain breeze,
The wind carries their songs to me,
And stories too, some young, some old,
Some tell of ancient heroes bold,
Some murmur sorrows, martyrs once bled,
Some roar victorious, the fight and the dead,
I take in them all, the love ballads pure,
I exhale them out, the long distant shores.
So many things I have seen from my den
Thanks to them, so again, I pick up my pen.
Bend your ear and you’ll always hear.
Don’t let the stories disappear.
Enjoy~!
