Once a councilor among the Divine Seers, Archaea left the clan for a variety of reasons. Foremost was the friction between her and the Sun-Queen Marisol. Archaea, chosen of the Plaguebringer, favored many traits and ideas repugnant to Marisol, particularly the way she rejected conventional beauty, and her embrace of death and imperfection. While serving the clan as a councilor, Archaea did not use her plague magicks often, as the clan is more life and flora-oriented, and instead focused on assisting dragons that were ill or dying. She strove to represent dragons that considered themselves ugly or gross, and were hurt by the social pressures to be more traditionally lovely. When not arguing with the Sun-Queen or the Gladekeeper’s chosen to make more space for the un-curated, sick, and dying in the clan, Archaea would often go into the mountains to admire wild animals and hunt. When she left the council, and thus the clan, there was no heir to her position in the clan to take over as representative of Plague interests, and Marisol ultimately ruled to never open Archaea’s throne again. It is unclear if this is because Marisol wishes to stifle the influence of the Plaguebringer in her clan, or if she simply awaits Archaea’s return. In the wilds, Archaea has managed to make herself the leader of a ragtag group of the wild dragons, so that they might better have the conveniences of being in a clan without joining the Laurel clan. Her position is precarious as no wild dragon enjoys answering to a leader, but they cannot help but admit their lives have improved under her guidance. She keeps a small cave in the mountains, which the wild dragons sometimes share with her.
