Biography
A cyborg with unique augmentations. Haki was born with magic so strong that it literally tore him apart, but quick action from Jupiter saved his life. He's now one of her most high ranked agents, although he's not always happy with that position. Having Jupiter constantly scrutinise him puts him on edge, especially since he's quite critical of her actions. He keeps his opinions to himself, dreading the day he may have to act upon them and call down her wrath.
Due to the Council's increasingly aggressive pressuring of neighbour clans, the tension between Haki and Jupiter is coming to a head. Jupiter is no fool and knows that the imperial has doubts, but she's never felt it necessary to confront him directly. However, she's had her technicians secretly install some add-ons during Haki's maintenance which will allow her to control or shut off his cybernetics from a distance. She doesn't think this will stop the imperial, but hopes to catch him off guard if he decides to go rogue, giving her Sattelites time to dispatch him. The Tyrant has learned a lot from Haki during the years he's worked for her and is eager to create new cyborgs, though this time she hopes to make them more obedient. Until then Haki serves his purpose. Jupiter isn't one to waste a perfectly functional machine.
Haki has a partner, a banescale named Dia. The two met through the Council as soldiers serving different factions. Dia belongs to Mercury's and used to be part of genealogical experiments. He's managed to get himself transfered to the technical staff in order to prepare for his and Haki's escape. Without the Council he'll need to be able to repair his partner's cybernetics if they fail. Dia's opinion on the Council soured long ago, when he witnessed the horrors of the Plague labs. The Council conducts its most gruesome experiments on captured enemies and dissenters from it's own labour force. Jupiter spreads talk of these dragons' crimes to prevent the researchers from feeling bad about their fate, but Dia stopped buying into the propaganda after witnessing enough of the carnage. When a dragon who'd been something of a mentor to him ended up a research subject, Dia was forced to observe and take notes of her slow demise. He vowed that day to leave and spread word of the Council's deeds to the outside world.
As one of Mercury's lot, Dia is under close watch by the Satellites. He and his ex-colleagues have to stay quiet about the experiments or face becoming the next subjects. Dia knows this makes running out risky and hopes that Haki has a better chance to arrange their escape. He's discovered a glitchy cyborg in an abandoned part of the plant, an old dragon who's augmentations seem to be earlier versions of Haki's, who he thinks might be able to aid them. Together the three are now plotting their desertion.
Haki used to be volatile and rather violent, but calmed down considerably after his brush with death. He likes to be alone and meditate and only likes the company of a few close friends. He loves Dia a great deal and wishes he could help him work through his issues. He feels he doesn't do enough for the banescale, who's doing everything to help him.
Haki doesn't know anything about Kern, the abandoned cyborg Dia discovered. Their existence came as a shock to him. He definitely wants to take them along on the escape and recognises some of himself in their behaviour.
