Edge
The Traveler
Edge is a dragon who spent her whole life trying to get the edge of the universe, the others gave her the name Edge in honour of her quest. Not many believed she would actually get to the end of the universe, it is so very far away after all, but most were supporting of her dream. Edge spent most of her early life gazing up into the distant stars, far from the reach of her clan's territory, beyond what has been explored and documented. What was out there? Maybe another civilisation like her own, maybe another clan of stars, maybe strange beings no one had seen before. This is what she dreamed of, and she spent her whole life training and preparing for her ultimate journey. When the day came that she was ready to leave, the others gave her an extravagant party, and said their goodbyes, cried their tears, and bid farewell to the brave and strong dragon.
For decades, they waited for her return, but there was no sign. After many years, the tale and excitement of her journey soon started to fade from memory, and it was assumed that she may never return. However, after the great battle of Ven and Eternal took place, the dragon Edge returned in the aftermath. She was incredibly weak and delirious, but the others managed to help nurse her back to health. After a long slumber to recover her strength, Edge began to tell her story, with Enigma, the scribe, writing down every word.
She told of the end of the universe, a great void, like looking into a mirror that held no reflection. She said she saw the great devourer, Ven, beyond the edge of the universe, a name she knew nothing about for she was absent during the great battle. She said that the devourer isn't finished, that he's hungry, and he'll do anything to eat. Strangely, she also mentioned something about a restaurant at the end of the universe, whatever that meant. Perhaps her exhausting journey and the revelations of what she saw there warped her mind slightly.
Now she rests, old and tired, telling her tale to whatever curious dragon asks, and explaining to all what she saw at the edge. Surely one of the greatest accomplishments of their era.
